During this inspiring and explorative week students will build up the basis of a strong portfolio for future study, including; sketchbook work, drawing, painting and sculpture.
Throughout the week students will focus on a core project that covers a range of outcomes using a variety of media. There will be tutor demonstrations, discussion of relevant artists and a strong focus on developing a range of work that is ideal for building up a diverse portfolio for application to future study.
Initially students will work to construct a sculptural vessel, which will become the subject of drawn studies and a larger, individual acrylic painting. Sketchbook work will be constant throughout the week, helping to develop a practise which will be invaluable to your folio. Using that research you will then complete the week by creating a fully resolved oil painting.
The course is an excellent springboard to our Art & Design Foundation Diploma course.
