A two-day workshop exploring large-scale portraiture through collage and mixed media.
Drawing directly from the model, you will begin by developing a selection of carefully observed studies, before gradually developing a more expressive and intuitive process.
Using found papers, paint, charcoal and graphite, this portrait will act as a record of your personal experience observing the sitter’s head. Looking to artists including Hannah Höch, Romare Bearden and Robert Rasuchenberg for inspiration, you will be encouraged to experiment and take risks – turning discarded materials into powerful portraits.
All core materials and equipment included. Concession rates are available for those in receipt of income-assessed benefits.
