Use a found image as the starting point for creating your own original painting.
To begin the day, the tutor will introduce artists such as Francis Bacon and Peter Doig who use other people’s images in their work. Having brought along your own image to use, you will examine the elements within it which pique your interest. By removing superfluous detail, you will learn how to confidently distil the essence of your found image.
You will spend the remainder of the day developing these isolated fragments into a sustained painting, adding your own creativity and vision to create a striking new composition.
All core materials and equipment included. Concession rates are available for those in receipt of income-assessed benefits.
