Learn how to create carefully-balanced figure paintings in this Diebenkorn-inspired workshop.

Following an introduction to Diebenkorn’s figure paintings, the tutor will guide you through a series of exercises which help you to consciously consider colour and tonal relationships.

Working directly from the life model, you will focus on the reduction of detail, building your confidence in exploring larger areas of colour, shape and light. With individual support from the tutor, you will spend the remainder of the day developing a delicately observed, large-scale oil painting of the figure.
