Thresholds and crossings take us physically or metaphorically from one land, place or time to another.

Taking inspiration from visual art, literature and music, this workshop encourages students to reflect on themes of change, with reference to both the physical and spiritual worlds.

Through guided reflection and experimentation with mixed media materials, you will explore symbolic imagery such as doorways, bridges, ladders and boats – forms which appear in religious, spiritual and mythical imagery. You will discuss the work of artists including William Blake, Yoko Ono and Marc Chagall, and be supported to create a series of thoughtful, mixed media artworks.

All core materials and equipment included. Concession rates are available for those in receipt of income-assessed benefits.
