Learn to simplify form and develop a more expressive approach to painting the figure.
The workshop will begin with an introduction to artists including Euan Uglow and Pierre Bonnard, and their varying approaches to light. Rather than focusing on drawing and proportion, the emphasis will be on tone, colour and brushwork.
Working directly from the life model under dynamic lighting, you will create small tonal studies before developing a larger, more sustained painting using acrylics. Ideal for those with some life drawing experience, this workshop will develop your ability to carefully observe light without overworking your paintings.
