Discover how carefully observed studies can transform into more abstract and expressive interpretations.

Working from objects such as shells, plants and bones, students on this workshop will use mixed media to carefully observe their natural forms, before creating a series of studies which gradually move into abstraction.

You will have the freedom to respond intuitively to form and surface, using acrylics, inks and charcoal to experiment with texture, layering and expressive mark-making. Rather than focussing on a ‘final piece’, this workshop encourages you to focus on the process: discovering how materials can transform the way natural objects are seen and represented.

All core materials and equipment included. Concession rates are available for those in receipt of income-assessed benefits.
