A masterclass in mixing clean, accurate colours, while considering temperature, vibrancy and tone.
This workshop will begin with a series of practical exercises, including creating warm and cool colour charts, mixing useful neutrals, and learning how to avoid muddy palettes.
In the afternoon, you will put these skills into practice with a more sustained still life painting. Here, there will be an emphasis on accurate colour relationships, edge control and thoughtful simplification. With supportive guidance from the tutor throughout, you will develop confidence using oil paint – making stronger, cleaner paintings whose colours ‘sing’.
