Explore drawing in colour around local parks and green spaces across Edinburgh.
During this course, we will gain confidence in drawing on location, strengthening our observational skills while developing our understanding of colour. Using predominantly soft and oil pastels, we will spend time getting to grips with these specific materials, allowing time and space to discover an individual approach to drawing.
The course will introduce aspects of colour theory and colour organisation, exploring where observation, perception and intuition meet on the page. To help inspire our discoveries, we will take colour notes from artists such as Pierre Bonnard, Ilse D’Hollander, Sargy Mann and Katy Papineau.
Each week we will work entirely outdoors in a different location - from Starbank Park to Holyrood Park or Lauriston Castle. All locations will be accessible by public transport, with nearby shelter and toilet facilities available.
All core materials and equipment included. CONCESSION RATES are available for those in receipt of income-assessed benefits.
