Design and create a personal piece of jewellery using fundamental stone-setting techniques.
During this three-day course, we’ll be introduced to tools, materials and key stone-setting processes, with hands-on practice on sample pieces to help us get to grips with these methods.
We’ll explore different ways of stone-setting, including bezel, tab, claw and rub-over settings, before focusing on one method to design and create a simple pendant or ring incorporating a semi-precious stone.
This workshop is best suited to students with basic to intermediate jewellery-making skills, such as saw piercing, using pliers and hand tools, and confidently working with a blow torch.
All materials are included, with the exception of silver which can be purchased at cost price from the School.
Concession rates are available for those in receipt of income-assessed benefits
NB: The course culminates in an informal exhibition of the week’s work, ending at 5.30pm on the final day.
