Prepare a strong and diverse portfolio for application to further study.
Working from a vibrant still life setup and a clothed model, we’ll experiment with a variety of drawing and painting exercises, including blind contour drawings using wire to transform our 2D ideas into more sculptural forms.
Building on these 2D and 3D explorations, we’ll develop our own personal pieces, choosing media and approaches which reflect our individual artistic voices. Exploring themes of identity, we’ll research, draw, make, paint and display our work in a real art school environment.
The course also offers the opportunity to meet staff and students from our Art & Design Foundation Diploma Course, providing first hand insight into studying art & design at a higher level.
All core materials and equipment included. Concession rates are available for those in receipt of income-assessed benefits.
NB: The course culminates in an informal exhibition of the week’s work, ending at 5.30pm on the final day.
