Mira Knoche (b.1984, Germany) is an Edinburgh based Artist and Educator. She graduated from the Glasgow School of Art (Bachelor of Fine Art in Painting & Printmaking) and studied on the New York Academy of Art MFA (Painting, Sculpture and Printmaking) programme as a Fulbright scholar in 2024-25. She currently has a studio at the Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop.
Her work explores multicultural feminist vision-making and community building, in dialogue with traditional techniques.
She is an interdisciplinary figurative artist interested in visual storytelling and embodied stories. Next to painting and sculpture, her practice includes writing, collaborations, directing and performance. She has exhibited in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Orkney (Pier Arts Centre), and New York.
Mira has been teaching classes and workshops at Leith School of Art since 2022.
